Six Sculpting Stories, 2025
A tribute to Ruth Duckworth, a modernist sculptor specializing in ceramics
Goal
To create a collaborative book dedicated to modernist sculptors. We worked in pairs, and each chapter was dedicated to a specific sculptor. In our case, we chose Ruth Duckworth, a sculptor born in 1919 in Hamburg, who inspired us with her minimalism and the sensitivity evident in her works. We sought to explore our own creativity while respecting and developing Ruth’s artistic world.

Concept
This 52-page book pays tribute to Ruth Duckworth, a modernist sculptor specializing in ceramics, through a clean, minimalist layout that reflects the essence of her work. White space is carefully used to create visual breathing room, leaving ample space for contemplation of her works. For the typography, we drew direct inspiration from her works to achieve an organic result that is consistent with her style.
The bilingual content, in French and English, is distinguished by a thoughtfully chosen typography: sans-serif for the English and serif for the French, ensuring a fluid reading experience while maintaining a harmonious aesthetic. This book invites readers to discover the timeless world of Ruth Duckworth, where simplicity and purity of form are expressed with elegance.
